ABOUT MARK
Prior to commencing his own practice, Mark worked as an Associate to a Judge in what is now the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, before joining a boutique specialist family law firm under one of the most experienced and well regarded family lawyers in Australia.
Mark undertakes work across the entire range of family law work, including divorce, high value property settlements, de facto matters, spouse maintenance, international matters (including travel and relocation issues), and complex parenting matters, including those involving serious allegations of family violence, mental health issues, or parental alienation. Mark also regularly assists clients with respect to asset protection planning both prior to and during marriages or de facto relationships in the form of Binding Financial Agreements (commonly referred to as prenuptial agreements.)
Mark is experienced in supporting clients through this difficult period by providing clear and practical advice in plain English, to empower them to make informed decisions to assist in navigating the family law process and moving on with their lives. Mark advocates for commercial and child-focused outcomes, and engagement in negotiation and mediation where it is appropriate and safe to do so. Where court proceedings become necessary, Mark is an experienced and strategic litigator.
Mark is also a member of the Independent Children’s Lawyer Panel, and appears in Court regularly as a Solicitor Advocate.
Mark is also experienced in practice areas adjacent to family law, including preparing wills, enduring powers of attorney, enduring guardians, and advance care directives.
